The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is the premier event of the Order of the Arrow and Scouting’s second largest National event.  Over 8,000 Arrowmen from across the country are expected to participate in this coming year's event.  The conference's focus is on fellowship, training, adventure and fun activities. During NOAC, Arrowman will participate in training sessions, outdoor activities and evening shows.  The program has competitions in many areas including sports, ceremonies, and Native American dancing and singing. Participants will stay in campus dorms in the dorms on campus and enjoy meals from university dinning and various other places around campus. Arrowmen (adults and youth) can attend with our lodge contingent or as staff members who support those attending the conference.  You cannot attend as an individual on your own.

Due to high anticipated interest and the limited capacity of the campus, each lodge has been given an allotment of slots.   Our Lodge has been given 34 total slots consisting of 26 youth and 8 adult positions. The contingent size is limited and must have a ratio of 3 or more youth for each adult. The lodge can request additional slots now, but we will not know until January if we have them.   We encourage everyone interested to apply NOW, if you have any interest in attending. The fee to hold a position will be $100, which will be refundable if you are not selected. The lodge will be making the selection of those attending similar to the process in 2015. Applicant involvement in the Lodge leadership, participation our AIA program, and effort toward development of our leadership may be considered as part of the selection process.

The fee for NOAC paid to the national organization is $525.  This fee is the same for staff members.  To this basic fee we will need to add transportation costs, any hotel stays, and other costs of the trip.   We are estimating that this added fee will be between $200 and $350 with the biggest factor being the cost of transportation.  The closer we are to filling the seats on our bus the lower the per person cost will be. Therefore, the total cost can be expected to be between $725 and $875 per person.    A payment schedule will be determined in February 2018.   These payments will need to be made on time to meet deadlines for reservations and the national organization.

If you have an interest in attending this event please visit our Lodge NOAC webpage where you can find additional information and request your slot. This will require $100 deposit at the time of your request. Those interested in staff positions can apply directly on the National OA website  This will also require a payment of $100.   If you want to apply to both our group and national each application will require a payment of $100. These deposits are refundable if you are not selected to attend.  If you are selected to attend, you can NOT transfer you position to another Arrowman. Once you are notified of selection you have 10 days to turn down the offer in order to receive your refund.  Once the payment schedule has started in February NO refund may be possible unless a qualified individual is found to take your place. Exceptions will be considered for documented medical and family emergency.
