WHAT: Cub Scout Summer Day Camp. BB and Archery Ranges, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, swimming and games. Plus much more!!

WHEN: June 18—22, 2018. Check-in begins at 8:45 am and camp starts with a morning flag ceremony at 9:00 am sharp. Evening car pool line will begin moving at 4:30 pm and should be done by 5:00 pm. Camp closes at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23.

WHERE:  High Point City Lake Park - 602 West Main Street, Jamestown, NC 27282 (Picnic Shelter #6). Scouts will be dropped off in the morning in the lower circle near Picnic Shelter #6. Scouts will be picked up in the afternoon in the upper circle near the swimming pool.  No Scout is to be dropped off before 8:45 am and must be picked up promptly at 5:00pm.

COST & Registration Dates:  Early Bird registration fee is $85 if paid by May 1. Regular registration fee is $90 if paid between May 2 and June 8,2018. No registration is accepted after June 9. Registration fee includes all crafts, materials, t-shirt, patch, and camp facilities. Financial assistance is available for those in need. Contact the Day Camp Director for information. Registration can be mailed or completed online (Select Camping then select Cub Day Camp. Once there, select Akela District to take you to the registration page.)

DISCOUNT FOR 4 DAY VOLUNTEERS: We always need adult leaders! Any adult that volunteers to help in a program area or help within a den for 4 days will receive a discount for their Scout to attend Camp fee! Contact camp leadership at for more details.

WHO:  All Registered Cub Scouts.  Not a Cub Scout?  Go to to find a Pack near you and get signed up.  Or contact Akela District Executive, Lamar Cassell at 336.378.9166.

LEADERS AND PARENT GUIDES:  Each pack sending Cubs to camp MUST send two-deep leadership for their pack and have at least 1 adult per 5 Cub Scouts; Tigers must have an adult for each Tiger every day of camp.  ALL adults and parents must complete the Youth Protection Training module online at Leaders and Parent Guides understand that they will be outside and walking in the heat, humidity, and other weather conditions that *may* be physically demanding. Please consider this when deciding to attend Akela Cub Scout Day Camp. The Leader’s Guide will be available in the Spring with more details.

HEALTH FORMS: A current BSA Annual Health and Medical Form Parts A & B is required with registration. The 2017 Health Form is found online at This is the ONLY version of the Health and Medical Form that will be accepted. These forms must be submitted with your registration. Anyone without a current Health Form will not be allowed to remain in camp.

Cubbies: Cubbies Camp is for siblings of Cub Scouts whose parents are volunteering at the camp. Cubbies must be at least two years old and potty-trained. Each Cubbie must be registered on this form with standard BSA health Form A&B.

Volunteers and Training: Parents and leaders are always needed during camp. Please complete the days and areas available to help on the reverse side of this form. All volunteers will require BSA Health Form parts A&B. Training is required. Adult and youth training nights will be June 13th & 14th from 6-8pm. Youth Protection must be completed and turned in at the training. The completion date must be after May 1st, 2017. You will need to only attend 1 night of training.

Rules to Follow: These rules are for the safety of your scout and others while at camp.
· Each person attending Day Camp (Camper or Volunteer) must submit a completed registration form and BSA Health Form.
· Scout must wear his Camp T-shirt and CLOSED TOE Shoes every day, NO exceptions.
· No personal electronics, cameras, or weapons (including carving knives). No fishing poles are necessary as we are NOT fishing this year.
· Medication must be in pharmacy issued container with Scout’s name. Epi pens MUST be labeled with Scout’s name and be kept in the Scout’s possession (in his day pack) during camp.
· If your child is going to be late or miss a day of camp, please contact Camp Director, Angela Wilson at    336-653-4001 or Program Director, Jeff Brown at  336-687-4845.

What to Bring:  Each day please send your son to camp with the following:
1) Day pack with bathing suit, towel and spray-on sun screen (no lotion, please). Apply sun screen in the morning before arriving at camp. We will have Scouts reapply in the afternoon.
2) Pack a healthy non-perishable lunch. You may include one or two light snacks.
3) Bring a filled water bottle. There will be water supplied for refills
4) Wear good walking shoes with socks
5) Flip flops or Crocs can be used at the pool only! NO OPENED TOE SHOES OR CROCS ALLOWED IN CAMP AT ANY TIME

Please be advised refunds on council, district, or OA events and activities will be made only if an adult calls 10 days before the event to the Council Office to cancel that registration. The only exception to the policy will be the case of illness, accident and/or death in the family and that cancellation must be called in the day before the event. Refunds cannot be transferred to future events or functions. Please note, a 5% fee will be charged on all refunds granted to cover cost of processing
