WHAT: Cub Scout Twilight Camp; BB and Archery Ranges, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts (perhaps some Math, sshhhh), Swimming, and a whole lot of fun!!!

WHEN: June 17-19. Check in begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 5:45 p.m., late arrivals must be walked up and checked in at headquarters.  Evening car pool line will begin moving at 8:35 and should be done by 9:05.  

June 15  -  An optional Health Form drop off and t-shirt pickup day will take place Saturday, June 15 at Cherokee Scout Reservation from 2-5 PM. Signs will direct you to the location for pickup.

June 16  -  An optional Health Form drop off and t-shirt pickup day will also be held at Woodmont United Methodist Church in Reidsville, NC from 2-5 PM  (1926 Richardson Dr, Reidsville, NC 27320).

WHERE:  Cherokee Scout Reservation, 3296 Boy Scout Camp Rd, Yanceyville, NC 27379

COST & DEADLINE:  Early Bird registration fee is $35 if paid by May 6. Regular registration fee is $45 if paid between May 6 and June 16. Registration fee includes all crafts, materials, t-shirt, patch, and camp facilities. Financial assistance is available for those in need. Contact the Twilight Camp Director for information. Registration can be mailed or completed online www.bsaonsc.org (Select Camping then select Cub Twilight Camp. Once there, select Cherokee District to take you to the registration page.)

DISCOUNT FOR 3 DAY VOLUNTEERS:  We always need adult leaders!  Any adult that volunteers to help in a program area or help within a den will receive a voucher # giving them a $10 discount off your Scout’s camp fee!  Contact us at cherokeecubcamp@gmail.com to receive this code. Place voucher # on registration page.

 

WHO:  All Registered Cub Scouts, having just completed Kindergarten thru 5th grade.  Not a Cub Scout?  Go to www.BeAScout.org to find a Pack near you and get signed up. Or contact Cherokee District Executive, Sam Putnam at 336.684.7620. Scouts BSA members volunteering age 11-17 can attend as a Den Chief but must attend a special training session June 15 from 9 AM  -  12 Noon.  Email camp staff for more details! 

LEADERS AND PARENT GUIDES:  Each pack sending Cubs to camp MUST send leadership for their pack and have at least 1 adult per 5 Cub Scouts; Tiger Cubs must have an adult for each Tiger Cub every day of camp.  ALL leaders and Parent Guides must complete the Youth Protection Training module online at www.my.scouting.org. Leaders and Parent Guides understand that they will be outside and walking in the heat, humidity, and other weather conditions that *may* be physically demanding. Please consider this when deciding to attend Cherokee Cub Scout Twilight Camp. The Leader’s Guide will be available soon with more details.

HEALTH FORMS: A current BSA Annual Health and Medical Form Parts A & B are required by Monday evening when campers are dropped off.  This form can be emailed to us, dropped off at one of the pickup times and locations listed above, or brought to the Council office by June 17th. Anyone without a current Health Form will not be allowed to remain at camp. 2019 Health Form is found online at http://www.bsaonsc.org/forms.html

OLD NORTH STATE COUNCIL REFUND POLICY

Please be advised refunds on council, district, or OA events and activities will be made only if an adult calls 10 days before the event to the Council Office to cancel that registration. The only exception to the policy will be the case of illness, accident and/or death in the family and that cancellation must be called in the day before the event. Refunds cannot be transferred to future events or functions. Please note, a 5% fee will be charged on all refunds granted to cover cost of processing.

JUNIOR CAMPERS:  Junior Campers are the sisters or younger brothers (not yet eligible to be members of BSA) of campers whose parents are serving as camp staff or leader/Parent Guides. Parent must remain on camp property at all times. There is a charge of $10 per Junior Camper includes tee shirt, patch & supplies.  Any sibling entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2019 will be considered a Junior Camper . Junior Campers will not be attending all areas around the camp but will have their own activities.

 

YOUTH PROTECTION TRAINING: 

ALL leaders and Parent Guides volunteering at camp must have completed the Youth Protection training module online within the last two years (i.e., certificate does not expire before June 20, 2019) and must attend a Staff Training, June 15th 9 AM – 12 Noon. Please help us protect our Scouts.
