Distinguished Citizen Award & Friends of Scouting Breakfast

The Old North State Council, Boy Scouts of America will honor Don Brady, Chairman of Brady Services, with the BSA's Distinguished Citizen Award on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Mr. Brady’s support and leadership in business, government, community, and Scouting has contributed significantly to the vitality of Greensboro and surrounding areas. Mr. Brady is a past recipient of the Nathanael Greene Award for outstanding contributions to community enrichment.

The BSA's Distinguished Citizen Award recognizes noteworthy and extraordinary leadership of citizens in communities across the United States. Honoring distinguished citizenship delivers a message to our youth that character counts.  The lives of distinguished citizens inspire youth to lead, accept responsibility, and care about principles and causes beyond self-interest. For 108 years, the Boy Scouts of America has led the nation in providing citizenship training for youth. As evident today as it was during its founding in 1910, Scouting provides young people with character-development programs based on values found in the Scout Oath: duty to God, duty to country, duty to others, and duty to self.

The Distinguished Citizen Award and Friends of Scouting Breakfast gives guests the opportunity to pledge their financial support to local Scouting.  Find more information and sponsorship opportunities here. If you have questions or would like to make a pledge in support of Scouting, please contact Ed Martin at ed.martin@scouting.org or 336 378-9166 ext. 115
