Old North State Council Blog

Merit Badges to Medical Professional-One Scout's Unique Leadership Path

Recently, an article was posted on the Old North State Council's blog featuring Eagle Scout Christian Prescott (pictured) from Troop 723 in Greensboro. Christian is a nursing student at UNC-Greensboro and a remarkable young man. He is a shining example of how Scouting transforms youth into responsible, caring, and contributing adults that will one day lead our towns, states, and nations.

You are invited to visit and follow our blog to read Christian's testimony to Scouting along with many other articles from local scouts, volunteers, and parents. Please share these stories with families, friends, and acquaintances. We have the program that families are craving and searching for- many parents just don’t know it yet. https://bsaonsc.wordpress.com/

The National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) course was developed by the Boy Scouts of America to provide local councils with a standardized advanced training course for the youth leadership of its Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews.  This intensive week-long course is designed to parallel and complement the training that adult leaders receive in Woodbadge. Experience has shown that National Youth Leadership Training makes a positive difference in the lives of its graduates and in the operation of the units they lead.
