Old North State Council Scout Executive & CEO Ed Martin Resigns Effective Dec 18, 2020

Scouting leaders and families:

It has been an honor and privilege to serve you the past 4 1/2 years. My family has enjoyed living in the Triad and experiencing both Scouting and community adventures. We are now entering a season in life when it is most important to be near our extended family, particularly elderly parents and in-laws in Florida and Texas, respectively.

After prayerful consideration, I have decided to conclude my 21-year professional career with the Boy Scouts of America and pursue new opportunities. Please accept my deepest gratitude for your service to Scouting, and all you do to positively impact the lives of youth.

Under the leadership of Old North State Council President Bob Paxton, the Council Executive Board & Officers will begin the BSA’s outlined process for hiring a new Scout Executive that would begin serving Old North State in 2021.

Yours in Scouting,

Ed Martin

OA Virtual Induction December 4-5

Due to attendance limitations for our in-person Inductions weekend at Cherokee Scout Reservation, this year we are offering a virtual option for Induction into the Order of the Arrow.

This event will take place December 4-5, beginning around 8:00 pm Friday night and concluding around 8:00 pm Saturday night. The format will be a combination of pre-recorded videos and live videoconferencing with Lodge Leadership, Elangomats, and other candidates participating in virtual inductions.

For the service component, candidates can choose to be part of an organized small group service project (still in keeping with COVID-19 mitigation strategies) or to organize their own project. To see more information and to register, visit our website
