Wood Badge Training

August 20-22 & September 17-19

The purpose of Wood Badge is to develop skilled leaders who can strengthen Scouting units in achieving the mission of the BSA.

Corporate level training that will deepen your understanding of what Scouting is and why we do it.

Two weekend course at Cherokee Scout Reservation

$225 per participant. Course limited to 48. Registration closes soon!



 


 

Cub Fall Family Campout Patch Contest

Designs due Tuesday, July 20


Scouts*, get your "artiste" on. Design this year's patch for the Cub Fall Family Campouts.

Theme is "It's Not Easy Being Green" for the Sesame Street 50th Anniversary and to promote environmental awareness.

The winning design will have traditional elements of a fall campout patch with "flair" from the theme. The designs should have no more than 6 colors and fit in a round patch of 2 1/2 inches or square patch 2 1/2 in on each side. Irregular shapes will be considered if practical.

Cub Scout Overnight Camp

2 Sessions: Aug 1-4 & Aug 4-7

Cherokee Scout Reservation

$200 per Cub

Cub Scouts and their parents and leaders can enjoy a theme-based, summertime camping experience. Get a sample of the Scouts BSA experience

4 days and 3 nights of thrills and adventure that will have campers excited for months after the closing campfire!



 


 

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

Jul 31-Aug 2  &  Aug 6-8

Registration closes July 15!

Strengthen your Troop, Crew or Ship with youth trained by the BSA's premier leadership development program!

For boys and girls ages 13 - 20 and who are recommended by their leaders.

Course is 2 weekends at CSR. Cost: $200

E-Newsletter Changing Soon

Text "ONSC" to 55741

By July 1st, we will stop producing this weekly e-newsletter created in the Doubleknot software system and transition to information sent through the ONSC Hub.

The Hub us an intuitive web-based application for receiving content at your convenience. Just text ONSC to the number above and receive an invitation to join our Hub.

After joining, you can choose what information to receive (all Cubs, your district, etc) and how you wish to receive it. The Hub is set up and ready for district leadership to begin using.



 


Cub Scout Elective Changes

Cub Scout elective Adventures are reviewed for content & popularity in an ongoing effort to keep the Cub Scout Adventure program relevant to today's families. Adventures are reviewed annually to identify trends and determine the interests of youth and Den Leaders. The most recent review has identified 19 Adventures that do not meet the expectations for participation, with the lowermost being earned by 3% of eligible youth. They will be retired effective May 31, 2022.

Scouts and their parents expect all BSA activities to be conducted safely. To ensure the safety of all participants, the BSA encourages leaders to use the four points of SAFE when delivering the Scouting program. Included below are examples of real incidents in Scouting where at least one of these four points was not followed.
