Cub Scout Elective Changes

Cub Scout elective Adventures are reviewed for content & popularity in an ongoing effort to keep the Cub Scout Adventure program relevant to today's families. Adventures are reviewed annually to identify trends and determine the interests of youth and Den Leaders. The most recent review has identified 19 Adventures that do not meet the expectations for participation, with the lowermost being earned by 3% of eligible youth. They will be retired effective May 31, 2022.

Protect Yourself Program For Cubs

The BSA and the Barbara Sinatra Foundation have developed Youth Protection programs for Cub Scouts and Webelos to help them learn steps to protect themselves and their friends.

These programs are age appropriate and age specific.  They may be used at home or in den or pack meetings.

Boy Scouts of America Safety Moment:  Hammock Camping

Camping in hammocks has gained in popularity over the last 10 years. More camping equipment manufacturers are offering hammock-style tents as a way to reduce the footprint on a camping area. This is helpful from a Leave No Trace standpoint, however, hammocks are not without their risks.
