July 5-7, 2019 at Woodfield Scout Preservation

Please click here for the printable registration form, or click register below!

Summer Extravaganza is an excellent opportunity for you and your family to spend a special weekend campout together. It’s a time to get to know each other in more meaningful ways through outdoor activities that Scouting  provides. Share summer fun with other families as we celebrate our declaration of independence anniversary.

Who can Come: This is a family event. Enjoy the weekend with your family, or just a parent and scout, whichever you desire. Activities will be provided to encourage parent/youth participation. Staff will be present to help guide you through the activities and celebration of the weekend.

When &Where: This year’s event will be July 5—7, 2019 located at Camp Woodfield (491 Woodfield Scout Trail, Asheboro NC 27203). Families are welcome to camp on Friday night through Sunday morning. Gate will open at 5:00pm on Friday and 7:00—9:00am on Saturday. Directions are provided at www.bsaonsc.org/woodfield.html

Check-In: Each couple/family will be required to check-in at the HQ building before entering camp. If you wish to camp on Friday, Check-in will start at 5:00pm. If you wish to come on Saturday morning, check-in will be from 7:00am—9:00am. Scouts and their parents will be assigned a campsite  at check-in. If assistance is needed, staff will be available during check-in.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, & supper will be provided on Saturday. Breakfast on Sunday will also be included. If you are camping on Friday evening, you will need to make plans for an in town supper or in campsite meal. If you have any specific food allergies, please plan to bring your own food. We will not be able to accommodate specific food orders. Meal schedule will be included in a welcome letter that will be sent 1 weeks prior to event.

Lodging: Platform tents are available if needed. Platform tents are only in certain campsites. If you need a platform tent, you may not be located with other families from your Pack. We recommend you work with your Cubmaster to loan you a tent if you wish to camp with others from your own Pack. Please mark this request on the registration form. Note: when staying in tents, no youth will stay in the tent of an adult other than his/her own legal parent or guardian. No exceptions. Access to running water in bathrooms & showers will be available.

Activities: Throughout the day, Scouts and parents will participate in rockets, archery, bb shooting, crafts, games, fishing, hiking, nature, pool, skits and a Saturday night campfire. If you wish to fish, please bring your own fishing gear and bait (Camp supplies are very limited). All events are designed for family participation.
