New Construction Requires Temporary Closure of Some Campsites for Weekend Camping

To ensure the safety of those using Cherokee during weekend unit camping, we will close all campsites near the shower facilities. Units will be able to use Delaware, Pawnee, and Sioux for weekend camping. Units will still be able to use the rifle and archery ranges for program during this period, but we will request an increase in adult supervision as campers walk past the Chippewa shower facility.

The closure of campsites excluding Delaware, Pawnee, and Sioux will begin on Monday, February 10 and go through completion of construction. We anticipate construction will end in mid-May.

We also encourage units to consider camping at our other properties – Woodfield, Hemric, and Hagan.

Direct questions regarding campsite reservations for unit camping to Kristina Edmondson at kristina.edmondson@scouting.org.
